There are two types of health insurance – hospital and extras. With extras, your health insurer may cover a portion of your treatment, depending on your policy, level of cover, length of time you have been a member, and remaining balance. With hospital cover, when surgery is performed in a private hospital, your hospital insurance covers the hospital stay, operating theatre fees, and some of the anaesthetic fee. There may be still be a gap payment required for your procedure. Your hospital insurance does not cover dental procedures. One of our staff can help you to work out the exact out-of-pocket cost.
