We understand cancellations occur and appreciate as much notice as possible.

We will provide a surgical treatment fee prior to treatment commencing. However, where private health insurance is involved, we are unable to provide an exact out-of-pocket amount. In these situations, we will supply the relevant item codes along with our surgeon’s fee, and you can contact your health fund directly to confirm what rebate is applicable.

There are two types of health insurance – hospital and extras.

With extras insurance, your health insurance may cover a portion of dental treatment, depending on your policy, level of cover, length of time you have been a member, and remaining balance.

With hospital cover, when surgery is performed in a private hospital, your hospital insurance covers the hospital stay, operating theatre fees, and some of the anaesthetic fee. Hospital cover does not contribute towards your surgical fee, and this is where dental extras cover may apply.

Medicare rebates are available for medical treatment, but not dental treatment such as removal of wisdom teeth, dental extractions or periodontal treatment. When treated by an oral and maxillofacial surgeon, a Medicare rebate is available for some surgical procedures such as removal of pathology, jaw reconstruction, and bone grafting.
