Bone & Sinus Grafting
Your bone & sinus grafting specialists will see you now.
Bone grafting and sinus or soft tissue grafting rebuild areas of jawbone that have reduced over time due to trauma, tooth loss, infection or gum disease. Dental implants require adequate bone and soft tissue in order to be stable and long-lasting.Bone and soft tissue grafting is used to rebuild this lost tissue so that the implant can be placed in the correct position, with good strength and long-term health. Assessment uses detailed imaging to understand bone anatomy and surrounding structures.

Bone Grafting & Sinus Grafting
Problems associated with reduced bone volume.
In the upper jaw, proximity of nerves can limit available bone height. Reduced bone volume may restrict treatment options or affect long-term stability—so we carefully assess whether grafting is appropriate.
Common Symptoms & Concerns
When it may be time for bone grafting and sinus grafting.
Sinus proximity in upper jaw
Limited bone height beneath the sinus may restrict treatment planning.
Insufficient bone for treatment
Bone grafting into the tooth socket at the time of tooth removal can preserve existing bone
Shifting teeth or bite changes
Loss of bone support can allow teeth to move or loading to change.
What to expect during specialist treatment.
Step 1
Consultation
We assess your jaw and bite, and review imaging for the position of nerves and sinuses. From this examination, the best approach can be planned.
Step 2
Surgery
Bone, soft tissue or sinus grafting surgery can be carried out under local anaesthetic, IV sedation, or general anaesthetic. In some cases, bone or soft tissue grafting can be done at the same time as implant placement. In other cases when tissue loss is more severe, grafting must be performed prior to implant placement.
